Pearl Bracelet, Or Pearl Anklet?

post image
Pearls have a long and storied history, and they’ve traditionally represented wealth and femininity. However, while a pearl necklace is a versatile accessory, there’s no one who says that the only place to wear those pearls is around the neck. With a little bit of creativity, a pearl necklace can also be worn as a pearl bracelet or a pearl anklet.
New Turns on a Classic Design

The idea is actually quite simple. Take a pearl necklace and instead of wrapping it around your neck, wrap it around your ankle or wrist. Since it will obviously be much too big for either of these locations to be looped just once around, simply wrap the pearls around again and again until the appropriate length is reached. Clasp them either behind the leg or beneath the wrist so that the clasp won’t be noticed as easily. Viola! A necklace has become something new and different.
When to Wear Pearls This Way
A pearl necklace is a flexible accessory, particularly if it’s only a single strand of pearls, and is lovely for casual or formal occasions. A pearl bracelet or anklet are fantastic for casual wear, and is a great twist on a classic idea. As long as you have at least a single string of pearls (though double strings and other necklaces can make for interesting bracelets and anklets as well) it’s possible to create all kinds of unique accessories. It might take a little bit of practice, particularly if a girl wants to find just the right number of wraps in order to get a necklace to sit right on her wrist or ankle, but in the end it will be worth it to master such a variable accessory. After all, there’s no reason to limit pearls to garden parties and formal banquets when they can easily be altered for casual use too.
